Our Water Safety Partners
Protector Aluminium has a long history of water safety advocacy and has partnered with some leading water safety organizations to promote safety in and around the pool, below are some of the organisations and initiatives we are proud to have been involved with.
Royal Life Saving
Protector Aluminium proudly endorses the Royal Life Saving “Keep Watch” program. Protector Aluminium pool fencing is all about saving young lives and with Royal Life Saving Australia remain at the forefront of water safety. There are still far too many drownings in Australia that could be simply avoided by fencing the pool with Protector Aluminium pool fencing products and fitting the gate with the G8Safe range of hinges and latches. As proud water safety advocates, Protector Aluminium is honoured to be involved in such a worthy cause.
Water Safety New Zealand
Protector Aluminium and G8Safe are proud to be official partners of Water Safety New Zealand. Protector Aluminium, G8Safe, Water Safety NZ and water safety sector leaders have come together to develop a national culture of safe enjoyment around water for a common cause – drowning prevention and water-related injury prevention. We support Water Safety New Zealand with their current campaigns "Aiming for Zero" and "Help Save New Zealand’s School Pools". Like Aussies, New Zealanders love the water. Sadly, every year, a large number of Kiwis lose their lives to drowning. Water Safety New Zealand believe they can achieve the goal of zero drowning - but to do so, we need your help. Make water safety a priority for you and your family - learn to swim, wear and use the right safety equipment, learn survival skills and most importantly keep your loved ones, especially young children, close.
Protector Aluminium is a proud member of the SPASA industry group. SPASA stands for Swimming Pool And Spa Association and it is the peak swimming pool and spa industry body in Australia. Being a SPASA member means we receive regular information about new technologies and trade information in our industry. We also have the opportunity to regularly network with other key members of not only the swimming pool industry but also those working towards water safety in general. If you're also in the industry you might like to check out http://spasaconvention.org.au/. We look forward to the coming years as a National SPASA Association continues to gain momentum Australia-wide and works towards preventing drownings in Australia.
St John Ambulance
In working with St John Ambulance, Protector Aluminium have been able to develop a range of community service announcements centered around resuscitation and why it is so vital in promoting water safety. They also played an important role when advising of the correct methods of CPR as they worked to develop CPR Rescue – and their very own CPR iPhone Application.
St John Ambulance is a “self-funded charitable organisation active in all states and territories, dedicated to helping people in sickness, distress, suffering or danger”. They are Australia’s leading provider of first aid training, first aid services at public events and supplier of first aid kits and equipment. Every year St John Ambulance Australia delivers 380,000 first aid certificates making it Australia’s largest first aid training provider, provides 1.4 million hours of voluntary service and treats over 86,000 casualties.
Protector Aluminium is proud to support this organisation and look forward to working with them again in the future. To learn more about their CPR and Resuscitation courses which are essential in your water safety regime please visit www.stjohn.org.au or View the community service announcements.
In a very exciting development for Water Safety in Australia, Protector Aluminium has developed ‘CPR Rescue’ – one of the only free CPR iPhone applications available in Australia.
CPR Rescue provides voice activated instructions on how to perform CPR during an emergency. There is also the option to run through a ‘training’ course which outlines each of the steps in a successful DRABCD rescue.
One of the many features is the applications ability to call the emergency phone number anywhere in the world. Meaning when in Australia the phone will call 000, if in America it will call 911 etc.
Unlike any CPR Applications currently available CPR Rescue also allows the user to chose from ‘baby’, ‘child’ or ‘adult’ and will highlight subtle differences to the user when performing CPR.
