Glass

Protector Aluminium manufactures 3 types of glass including; fully framed, semi framed and frameless.

Each of these complies with the Australian Standards and a Pool Fencing compliance certificate is available by request from your contractor or the store you purchased the glass from.

Glass is available in 6mm, 8mm,10mm or 12mm  toughened sheets depending on your needs and requirements. These are available in a range of heights and can be made to your custom designs and come with a range of options by request such as raked or sloped down and are available as clear or tinted.

PLEASE NOTE: Please check your council’s requirements at www.poolfencing.gov.au for more information as some designs may not be pool fence compliant in your area.

TIPS

FRAMED:
As described, this style of fencing has a sheet of glass sitting inside a frame of aluminium rail. The most popular styles of rail for this fencing are 70*40 Oval and 50*50 Rail with an 8mm sheet of toughened glass insert.

SEMI-FRAMED:
This is the most popular choice for pool fencing. Semi-Frameless fencing has no top or bottom rail with the glass supported by a post on either side. Glass is typically of 10mm thickness and the posts are available in a variety of sizes.

FRAMELESS:
This style of fencing is very attractive. Mostly used for a small section of fencing (for example, leading out from a deck to the front of the pool) with the rest of the fence completed with a simple flat top aluminium fence.  Frameless fencing only requires each section to have a sheet of 12mm toughened glass and clamps to hold the sheet in place.
